Elizabeth Carey Smith has been a designer for 15 years. Her unorthodox trajectory has found her in a multitude of design environments, from top New York agencies to small Australian studios; from big publications to an indie feminist magazine; major cultural institutions like Lincoln Center and Australia's National Gallery of Victoria; and from in-house corporate to a startup in sustainable fashion.
Along the way, she has refined her immense typographic knowledge, completing her post-grad in Typeface Design from Cooper Union, and now by serving as a board member for the Type Directors Club. She believes in the power of the authentic message—through letters, words, images, and visualized data. Elizabeth lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with her husband and daughter.
